Interview with Tim Sills

What's the best thing about playing for Aldershot ?

Walking out of the tunnel with anticipation of what's to come and the roar of the crowd's appreciation and anticipation too. Could never get bored of it!!

What's the worst thing about playing for Aldershot ?

Tough one. I'll be diplomatic and say that it's not having won promotion yet!

What is the most memorable game you've played in for Aldershot ? and why?

Memorable for sheer importance would be the play off final but i try not to remember it most of the time. Memorable for all the right reasons would be the Play off semi at Hereford . Has to be the best feeling i've ever had through football!!

What was worst game you played in? and why?

Play off final and Trophy semi second leg at Hednesford. Only dropped twice that season for both these huge games and we didn't get into the trophy final, or achieve league football. Shouldn't say any more really!!

Best goal you've scored in a Shots shirt?

For importance and sheer ecstasy i would say the goal at home to Gravesend last year and the penalty in the shoot out at Hereford . In terms of quality i'd say possibly my first goal at home to Scarborough last year. Diving header into the top corner when we needed a win to get in the play offs felt pretty brilliant.

Who is the best player you've ever played with?

Bit of a tough one as i can't roll out my old league days as i haven't had any yet, but i would say for all round ability, influence and class it would have to be my older brother Julian. If he'd wanted it more he would have gone much much higher!

Who is the best player you've played against?

Non competitive i'd say Dean Richards when i was at Basingstoke although i did give him the run around a bit!! Competitive i'd say Super Ray Warburton, even though he admitted i ran him ragged that day but he is and always will be a legend!!!

Which team has the best set of fans?

The Wheatsheaf Youth Sunday side as i'm there watching my mates! Or they're at least joint with 99% of Aldershot fans who make every Saturday an exciting and uplifting experience to the maximum!!

Do any Aldershot players have annoying habits?

Well the defence keep leaking goals which is annoying! I'm kidding of course!! Critts has an annoying habit of being able to run all day and never look tired! Bully has an annoying habit of always winning at cards although on the flip side Gary has a brilliant habit of nearly always losing! And Barny's just annoying!!! He'll love me for saying that!!

Off topic:

What was the last film you saw?

Went to the cinema with the other half to see Wallace and Gromit. Know i should say something really macho like Saw 2, or Goal! but hey, i enjoyed it!!

What's your favourite film of all time?

Tough again, but probably The Untouchables closely followed by Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans!

What was the last CD you bought?

Compilation CD called Festival. Great tunes by the likes of Coldplay, Killers, U2, Green Day etc.

Who's your favourite music artist or group?

U2 and Coldplay produce unbelievable music but also with brilliant lyrics too! And Coldplay isn't depressing if you actually listen to most of the words!!

What's your favourite beer?

Erdinger in Brown's in Windsor . Great glass too! Mainstream though i'd say Kronenbourg or Budweiser!

What's your favourite take-away food?

Chinese, just ahead of Pizza and a good curry!

Who is your ideal women? and why?

Jessica Alba (sorry JJ) because she's obviously alright looking, maintains the girl next door look and comes across as intelligent and ambitious! Not a patch on the missus though!

What is your favourite T.V. show?

This one's easy. I'm a massive 24 fan which is on a par with my love for The Simpsons! Homer the role model!!

If you were stuck on a desert island and only aloud 3 things, what would they be?

CD player (with CD's), a football and my girlfriend!!!

Tell us something about yourself that most people wouldn't know.

I've never smoked or done drugs at any stage in my life and although some might say i've had a sheltered life, I'm proud of it!!
